Responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial management of Pharmacy services. Provides patient care and Pharmacy Department staffing as the situation dictates.
Duties and Responsibilities (essential job functions appear in boldface):
1. Plans, organizes, and directs all departmental activities.
2. Provides overall supervision of departmental personnel and evaluates personnel performance.
3. Establishes and maintains working relationships as well as acts as a resource person to departmental staff, other staff, and to the medical staff regarding drug and therapeutic issues.
4. Leads the development of departmental strategic and operational goals and objectives. Assesses departmental performance in relation to the established goals and objectives, ensuring these are consistent with the strategic objectives, mission, vision and values of the organization.
5. Develops departmental operating and capital budgets. Accountable for insuring that departmental operations are carried on within allocated funds.

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed in the State of Ohio to practice Pharmacy
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy, an advanced degree is preferable. Must be licensed in the State of Ohio to practice Pharmacy. Master's degree in business or health administration is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of five years total experience, with three of those years in hospital pharmacy. Experience in administrative hospital pharmacy is desirable. |
