Description

 
Primary Responsibilities include
  • Act in a lead or supervisory role in overseeing the workflow of the pharmacy.
  • Maintain pharmacy day-to-day procedures, scheduling and delegation of staff responsibilities.
  • Manage, supervise and train pharmacy staff.
  • Assist in the training of ancillary or replacement personnel.
  • Assure all State and Federal agency requirements and standards are in place.
  • Assure services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Manage Pharmacy inventory.
  • Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
  • Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Oversee the ordering and safe storage of medical products.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality of patient and company information.
  • Maintain patient records and prescription files in accordance with regulations and policy.
  • Handle insurance questions and issues.
  • Promote sales and develop the business.

Qualifications

 
Education and License Requirements
  • Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Current license in good standing in NY state
Skills
  • Commitment to operational excellence and community involvement.
  • Complete knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to pharmacy practices.
  • Be a motivated caring professional with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule consistent with a stimulating retail environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and provide direction to associates.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Authorization to fill Medicare and Medicaid prescriptions.
